Kevin Walters
Kevin Walters is an accomplished Event Coordinator, Drummer/Percussionist, Vocalist/Guitarist, Live Sound Engineer, and DJ. In 2017, he became the Director of Sales and Operations at Spinners Entertainment and has been an indispensable fixture on the front lines as well as the back office. With over 15 years of experience performing for large audiences throughout New Jersey, New York, and Europe and coordinating events, Kevin is a consummate professional that can gracefully execute any task in the most stressful of environments. You simply cannot put your trust in a better person for your wedding or event.
Kevin got his start with Spinners Entertainment by providing coordination and technical support for weddings and live sound engineering assistance for Jay Della Valle and his one of a kind acoustic act, Owls & Lions. After a year of working with Owls & Lions as their live sound engineer, Jay approached Kevin about joining in to play hand percussion in the band. Jay quickly realized they had unleashed lighting in a bottle – adding percussion to their sound and a steady backbeat elevated their live performances and opened up opportunities for Owls & Lions to play receptions, not just ceremonies and cocktail hours as they had been accustomed to. In 2017, Owls & Lions further expanded their reach by playing house concerts, festivals and becoming frequently called upon representatives of The Ukulele Kids Club, a charity that raises money and awareness for music therapy programs for sick children in hospitals.
In addition to playing drums and hand percussion in Owls & Lions, Kevin is also an accomplished Latin percussionist. He’s often paired with a DJ during private events or wedding receptions and plays along to the DJ music, creating sonically rich rhythmic textures. He often incorporates non-traditional percussion elements such as electronic drum pads that blend seamlessly into dance music and today’s top hits. Kevin’s energetic performances are contagious and add a sense of tangibility to the music that you can’t simply get from DJ music alone.
